Here is a collection of 30 concept arts done during the production of Rise of the Tomb Raider done in 2014. I consider them to be more like sketches as they were all done in half-day to a day each. They served many purposes, first of which is visual design of course. But also I tried as much as possible to make them illustrate story beats, game play possibilities, storytelling through set dressing, light and atmosphere, in-game composition, etc. With this body of work, I hope you will get a better glimpse at the daily life and challenges of a concept artist on a AAA production team.
